GRAVETIDES, an Undead Fleet for Naval Fantasy Wargaming Kickstarter launches on the 23rd of March !!
We are two Italian brothers with a passion for gaming and modelling, and we’ve finally decided to do our very own Kickstarter, hoping to find some support to further develop the projects we have been working on for a long time.
Among all the games we have played in the past, we have a soft spot for naval wargaming played with fantasy warships with strange powers, that allow to field bizarre and greatly characterized vessel models.
Our Kickstarter offers an undead naval fleet composed by resin hand sculpted models, that strive to recapture the look and the feeling of the miniatures of the last two decades of the past century, that in our minds remains the ‘golden age’ of tabletop wargaming, without renouncing to an original touch.
Even if our fleet can be used with any in-print and out-of-print fantasy naval rules, they are also part of our Gravetides project, our own naval rules still in development, where the classic fantasy races and different undead reigns wage war among each other, and against a sorcerous parasite from another plane of existence, in a dying world were naval battles, due to the relentless rising of the seas level, are more and more prevalent.
If this Kickstarter is a success, we plan to create more fleets, and actually try to publish (in a form or another) the Gravetides core rules.
The Kickstarter will go live on the 23rd of March.

THE DRIFTING MAUSOLEUM
Drifting Mausoleums are a daunting and terrifying sight: constructed from the carcasses of a giant abyssal fish or some other marine creatures, they bring into battle an imposing mausoleum that hosts - guarded by a circle of necromancers - the phylactery of a mighty Lich, whose magical energy is channeled by the sorcerers to fuel the ship movement, and to create the defensive aura of decay that surrounds its massive bulk.
In addition to its magical powers, the Drifting Mausoleum is heavily armed with batteries of catapults capable of firing on every side of the vessel, giving it a massive firepower that makes it a formidable warship.

THE CORPSESHIP
Corpseships appear as vessels composed by remains, wreckages or even whole parts of sunk warships, kept together by the souls of their crews, bonded by necromantic spells to the ship they once belonged to.
Even if they are moved by the wind, their large shredded sails, made from the very ghostly essence of the souls of long dead crews, do not fill even in the strongest of gales, giving their movement an eerie quality that add to their already unnerving appearance.

Le fameux Bonerammer pour faire un Désosseur. C'est la sculpture qui fait le moins l’unanimité dans mon entourage.
THE BONERAMMER Bonerammers are created by necroshaping spells that mold piles of dead bones into ship form, making these vessels look like floating shells from some twisted marine mollusk or coral.
Bonerammers are infused with magical energy, that allows the ships to move on the battle seascape, and that if channeled through their ram, may add to the already devastating damage they can normally cause on enemy ships.

THE DREADSHIP
Dreadships appear as decaying ships, mounting a single huge catapult of their front, acting in squadrons as fire support for larger and less maneuverable warships.
Dreadships are usually crewed by relentless zombies and armored skeletons, led by a necromancer acolyte or by a small cabal of apprentices.

THE REVENANT
The winged shadow of the Revenant darkens the sky, as it nosedives to board enemy ships, and the scythe of its wraith rider reaps through their crews like dry hay.
The Revenant model has yet to be sculpted, and will be unlockable during the course of the Kickstarter campaign.
THE DRACOMORT The DracoMort is the reanimated corpse of a dragon, resurrected and brought into battle under the control of its necromantic raider.
DracoMort can attack enemy ships from above by breathing ice, lighting or clouds of decay, depending on the nature of the dragon when it was still alive.
The Dracomort model has yet to be sculpted, and will be unlockable during the course of the Kickstarter campaign

Infidélités? Tu as des flottes MV??
Autant les gros vaisseaux me parlent, les petits je trouve ça foutage de gueule. Le dreadship est absolument quelconque et sans personnalité, il ne fait pas MV pour un sou, mais passe encore.
Le coquillage, lui par contre, tient ouvertement de l'escroquerie. Ca ressemble à rien, ni à un bateau ni à un conglomérat d'os, à rien.
Quand (si) je m'y remettrais après le déménagement, je pense utiliser ma flotte impériale de chez BlackTree pour représenter les petits vaisseaux, quitte à mettre des éperons sur les petits pour remplacer les coquillages présentés ici, et récup à la rigueur le poisson mort de ce KS pour faire e vaisseau amiral...

Le Désosseur "Bonerammers" je m'y suis fait, il me fait sourire mais c'est celui qui pose le plus de problème aux gens. La description est rigolote.
La Nef Mortuaire "Dreadships"si ce n'est les voiles ça manque d'aspect MV.
Flotte impériale de chez BlackTree ?
Pour l'instant pas moyen d'acheter des pièces à l'unité, seul le pack est disponible mais il y a des chance si le KS est financé.

Ils ont de l'humain, de l'orc, de l'elfe et du lezard de mémoire. Globalement moche et assez peu détaillé, au demeurant.
J'avais pris une flotte humaine pour faire du breto, à la base. Il s'avère que c'est plus petit que du GW, et je m'étais dit que je reconvertirai en MV avec les vaisseaux de ligne en escadron, les escadrons en truc minus, et en allant chercher une nécropole amirale à l'échelle quelque part ailleurs. Dreadfleet fait pas l'affaire car vraaaaaiiiiiiiiment trop gros.
